creation, history, imagination.
creation: the understanding the we live in something created to be holy. that our entire existence plays out over real time and in real places. that relationship to people and to land are the only mediums through which our spirituality can be understood.
history: our ability to see that there is a bigger narrative at work. in a biblical sense. in a personal sense. we are a part of the history of biblical narrative. we are a part of the history of our ethnos (nation, ethnicity, people group).
imagination: we need to be able to see ourselves as part of the story. to be open to the possibilities of salvation. to wrestle with the mystery of our God. imagination allows us to participate and make space for the new creation.
now, to let these ideas gestate for 40 years.
